Job Summary

The Solution Architect is responsible for successfully leading tier 1 customer implementations. This role reports to the Director, Head of Global Support and Professional Services (EMEA)

We are looking for an innovative Solution Architect to develop and implement systems architecture that will meet business needs. The Solution Architect’s responsibilities include gathering requirements and functional specifications to develop design specs. You will be responsible for determining a project’s scope and estimation in pre-sales cycle. Throughout this process, you will communicate directly with Product architects, developers, and customers. You must be comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment, be resilient, handle internal and external challenges with a professional and positive attitude. Have the ability to integrate any updated specifications and requirements into the systems architecture. And translate customers business process into a technical design specification and explain complex problems to internal teams as well as the customer.

 Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for assisting in the establishment of a solution design best practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.
  • Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
  • Review the business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.
  • Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of solution design standards and procedures.
  • Champions a structured approach to business application solutions.
  • Directly assists in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project.
  • Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
  • Influences changes to standards when necessary.
  • Assists domain architecture team on solutions management and timing of financial spend for application solutions.
  • Supports the architectural aspects of all application projects.
  • Develops and executes solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.
  • Provides analysis of security protection technologies as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 – 12 years of experience related to IT Management or other information technology solutions architecture role
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail regarding accounting skills
  • Ability to work under indirect supervision
  • Broad understanding of information technology topics
  • Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
  • Flexible in a fast-paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities
  • Technically creative and open-minded
  • Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage: PSIM, VMS, GIS, Internet/WEB/Mobile Apps, SQL server, Qlik, Streambase, Server HW, Virtual environments (VMWare, HyperV) & IP Networks
  • Security and/or Operational projects background in solution-oriented companies a plus
  • Experience using both NetSuite, Salesforce and/or Clarizen preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Proficient with using Zoom, Skype and Teams for video conferencing, sharing screens and calls
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Ability to travel to customer sites in UK and international as needed.
  • 100% remote role.
