Sales Solutions Engineer - West

About The Position

Qognify, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer for the Western Territory including US and Western Canada. 

Reporting to Qognify’s Solutions Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be a technical expert for the Qognify solutions portfolio including, Qognify Video Management System (VMS) platforms, their infrastructure, components, tools, applications, and value proposition. The Sales Engineer is responsible for assisting the sales team by handling all pre-sales support for end user and dealer/integrator customers; answering all technical questions arising during the sales process; and helping customers by assessing their needs and identifying, recommending and adapting the products and services that the company offers. This is a full-time position with 50% travel.

  • Are great with and enjoy explaining the benefits of the company’s product lines and answering any questions regarding products, services and deployments
  • Promptly respond to SE support cases via Salesforce, phone and e-mail
  • Have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and use a systematic approach to gain resolution, often under duress
  • Handle pre-sales technical support of potential customers and partners from the initial contact and through evaluation and deal closure
  • Design and give product demonstrations and presentations of the company’s products and services
  • Collaborate with the sales team and partners to close deals by proactively solving, potential customer’s technical challenges
  • Convey customer requirements to the product management teams
  • Excel in participating in product roadmap discussions with the product management team
  • Support the building and maintaining of customer and technology partner relationships
  • Plan and prioritize activities and prospective customer contact toward helping the sales team achieve quotas
  • Respond to the functional and technical elements of RFI’s & RFPs
  • Effectively communicate the corporate vision, mission and strategies
  • Participate in monthly sales webinars and local and national trade shows
  • Provide post-sales support as needed
  • Are self-motivated and a quick learner
  • Have a “whatever it takes” attitude and motivation to assist in closing business for the company



Requirements

  • Enjoys working both independently and as an integral part of a team
  • 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer and/or systems integrator
  • BS or equivalent experience in a technical discipline is preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Video Management Systems (VMS), Video Recording, and Video Analytics
  • General knowledge or experience with security solutions and integration
  • Vertical market expertise such as Utilities, Railway, Airports – is a strong advantage
  • Provide effective presentations, demonstrations and technical support during the selling cycle
  • Team player with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Business maturity, decision making, planning and project management skills
  • Strategy development, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to utilize CRM tools for managing and reporting customer requirements and issues
  • Strong technical systems and network knowledge including operating systems, firewalls, storage systems, and virtual environments
  • Experience with various Storage Architectures (DAS, SAN, NAS)
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, SQL server, Server hardware, and Virtual environments (e.g. VMware, HyperV)
  • Experience in similar role involving Pre-Sales Engineering
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective ability to communicate with all levels of customer’s management
  • Ability to function effectively in a face paced and evolving work environment
  • Ability to travel as required to perform job duties, estimated to be at least 50%
  • Experience with Zoom, Skype and/or Teams for virtual collaboration
  • Comfortable and capable of working 100% from home.
