IP video by the numbers: how to make money on IP video
It’s hard enough winning a video system project. But what’s even tougher is turning a profit on one. There are many factors contributing to margin erosion. I’ve heard professional system integrators declare that although they won a big name account, they had to nearly “buy the business.” And at the end of the day, they were shocked at the number of visits and fixes they had to apply. To top it off, many also report that their customers are less than delighted and can’t be used for references.
Over-selling cutting edge technology is partly to blame. But there are other contributing reasons too, which I’ll be discussing atISC West. I’ll be joined by two well-respected system integrators who have made the transition to profitable business – Daniel Brault, Founder and President, Electro Specialty Systems and Karen L. Baker, Senior Vice President, The Protection Bureau. Our panel discussion on “IP video by the numbers: how to make money on IP video” will be moderated by Sharon Shaw, Director of Education, PSA Security Network. Sharon has coordinated many successful education forums for security system integrators across the United States.
I hope you can join us for this 2-hour session at ISC West on April 6 at 2:45 p.m. for a deep dive into the truth about IP video. There’s even an opportunity to do an optional self assessment of your organization which will help you assess your state of readiness for IP video compared to your peers.
